Sushi Anyone?
We love Sushi, and over the last 20 years, there has been a common theme in our search for the best: Chef James Sargent. Though he had previous experience, we met James at the Old Florida Fish House in Seagrove Beach, Florida, by mistake. We were new to the area and just realized they had a Sushi Bar. Once we did, it was our sole purpose for going (sorry/not sorry, Old Florida). We enjoyed James' creations several times per month for years; when he told us he would be leaving to start a new adventure, we were instantly excited to see what he had planned, and we were not disappointed.
Shaka Sushi & Noodle Bar, located in Inlet Beach, Florida, along 30A, opened in mid-2019 and has produced sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, small plates, and entrees at a high level since. The ingredients are always top-notch and very fresh. We have greatly broadened our culinary tastes due to the unique items on Shaka's menu; make sure to try the grilled Octopus; we all loved it.
Between Brittany, Michael, Mason, and myself, we have tried just about everything on Shaka's menu (we always sharesies) and can honestly say that there is not one thing we have not enjoyed. There is something on the menu for everyone, even the less adventurous. Have you ever had a baked avocado topped with Kani? Goodness.
Shaka has indoor and unique outdoor seating that can be used in just about any weather. They also expanded with their Grab n' Go market, featuring a build-your-own Poke bowl and several other features. Shaka also does a charcuterie-style sushi board in about any size you need (seriously). You will need to call in advance for these; we recommend a week prior unless it is just for a couple of people.
Shaka seems to be going well for Chef James, and we couldn't be happier for him. So when you are in the area, plan a meal at Shaka; there is something for everyone. You will not leave hungry or disappointed.
